Corn
Approximately 43 percent of Mississippi's corn is planted in the Delta. Farmers plant corn between March 1 and April 30 and harvest the corn crop between August 1 and September 30. Mississippi Delta corn has an average yield of 140 bushels per acre.
Rice
Nearly 99 percent of the state's rice is produced in the Mississippi Delta region. Typical planting dates for rice in Mississippi range from the beginning of April to the end of May. Mississippi's rice is usually harvested from the middle of August to the middle of October. The average rice yield for Mississippi's rice crop is 6,850 pounds per acre.
